The monthly tabs are very helpful, not all planners have them. Plus the back has sections for future planning listing each month which works great for appointments/vaca/trips in the following year. This planner is really nice, the cover is sturdy and the pages are made with thick paper. What I like is that it includes a monthly calendar and a weekly calendar for the entire year; each month is a different color so you can tell when you are switching months - if that^^^ ..."
