As some others mentioned, the printer may not recognize the cartridge and keep notifying you that the ink is low. "Yes it doesn't last as long as the cartridges from dell, I would say about 1/2 as long. But they are a lot cheaper too. I figure 1/4 the cost of the dell cartridges or even cheaper. Definatley a lot better for your wallet :) ..."

"I ordered these cartridges a few months ago. When I went to use them, I got error messages on my printer. I then purchased Dell-recommended cartridges, which were more expensive but did work. I contacted the vendor, who asked me to return the unusable cartridges for a refund. I did so but the refund was never processed. It tells you how to get around the 'ink low' messages that your computer will try and trick you with. "I have tried these enviroinks cartriges and had very poor results. Printing errors abounded and they didn't last long when they did print. If you look at the reviews of remanufactured/refurbished cartridges, most with at least 10 reviews show about a 50/50 ratio of good to bad reviews. So they have thier product appropriately priced.
